Gülce's research focuses on mushroom taxonomy and mycovirology.

Gülce Ediş completed her undergraduate studies at Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, and received her master's degree from Ankara University, Institute of Science, Department of Biology, with her thesis entitled "Identification, molecular characterization, and investigation of the interactions of mycoviruses infecting some clinical dermatophyte isolates with their hosts". She is continuing her academic studies within the PhD program at Ankara University, Institute of Science, Department of Biology.
