Ayça works in the fields of bioreactor design, biological systems, microbiology, biofuels, and basic biotechnology.

Ayça Deniz completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Aksaray. After graduating from Marmara University's Department of Bioengineering, she began her master's studies at Ankara University's Biotechnology Institute, Department of Basic Biotechnology. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a researcher on the TÜBİTAK-supported projects "Investigation of the Toxic Effects of Nanoplastics on Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Manipulation of Metabolic Pathways Playing a Key Role in Toxicity with the CRISPR Method" and "Production of Hydrazine (Rocket Fuel) from Anammox Bacteria".

His research focuses on microbial diversity and microbiota analysis, environmental DNA (eDNA)-based biodiversity research, bioreactor design and optimization, and biotechnological applications. His areas of particular interest include Anammox bacteria, hydrazine biosynthesis for use in biofuel production, wastewater treatment, and the role of microbial metabolism in environmental biotechnology.

She currently works as a researcher in the Evolutionary Genetics Laboratory and continues her R&D work within the Agrigenomics Hub (AgriGx) Animal and Plant Genomics Research Innovation Center.
